A PODIUM AND IMPORTANT POINTS FOR TEAM LUCIDI MOTORS' DRIVERS IN MISANO
06/06/2011 - Another podium was obtained by team Lucidi Motors in Misano Adriatico during the second round of the Italian Formula 3 Championship.
In qualifying held Saturday, Kevin Giovesi set the fourth time (1'31.119) at just a tenth from the pole position. Edward Cheever, eighth (1'31.461) and therefore poleman for race two and Victor Guerin, tenth (1'31.723), were in the top ten.

In race one, Giovesi after being closed by a rival at the start lost a position but in the finale he managed to recover it and crossed the finish line in fourth. Solid performance for Cheever too, seventh from lights to flag, while Guerin was forced to an early retirement during lap twelve due to the damages reported by his Dallara in a contact in the early stages.

Race two welcomed another podium for Cheever, second absolute, after a race that had the topic moment for him at the start. Twelfth was Guerin, slowed down again by a contact with a rival, while Giovesi ended fourteenth after a pit stop as consequence of a contact.

In the absolute classification Cheever is now fifth at 27 points, just 10 shy the leader; Giovesi is seventh at 25, while Guerin is tenth at 13. In the rookies', Cheever is third at 40 points and has a six points gap to the top; Lucidi Motors is third in the teams' classification at 40 points, just nine from the leadership.

Gabriele Lucidi (Team Principal):
"This weekend has only partially been positive to us. Cheever obtained his first absolute podium after Franciacorta's one in the rookies classification. Giovesi in race one harvested important points for the classification; what a pity for Guerin instead as he was involved in unfavourable episodes in both races".

The Italian Formula 3 Championship will be back on track next 17 July in Imola.
