10/05/2009 - Positive debut for Team Lucidi Motors at Adria in the opening round of the Italian Formula 3 2009. The team of the Marches, only one lining up three Dallara F309-FPT single seaters, given to Sergio Campana, Francesco Prandi and Giovanni Nava, confirmed their competitiveness in a championship grown up both in terms of participants and level.

Qualifying session on Saturday finished with the third place of Camapana (1'11.709), just a tenth adrift the pole position obtained by Zampieri (BVM-Target) in 1'11.606. Small gap for Nava too (ninth, 1'12.437 ) and for Prandi (eleventh, 1'12.498).
In race one, the track layout, historically unfavouring overtaking, did not allow recovery chances to Campana that concluded third and obtaining the first podium of the season. In the points Nava, ninth, while Prandi, recovered up to the seventh position, concluded fifteenth due to an error in the final stages.

Campana and Nava kept their starting positions in race two (the starting grid was obtained by inversion of the first six drivers) up to the chequered flag respectively finishing in fifth and ninth postions. Good recovery for Prandi instead, who concluded in eleventh postion.

Gabriele Lucidi (Lucidi Motors, Team Manager):
"The championship promises to be really tight: from our side, Campana qualified just at a tenth from the pole and he kept the race pace of leaders; Prandi too, despite the result spoiled by an episode in the final stages of race one, lapped on interesting laps showing that he has the potential to do good things. Nava payed a bit the absence from winter tests but he gradually improved, therefore I think he will not have any problems at Magione".

Classification at the moment sees Daniel Zampieri (BVM-Target) at the lead with 27 points. Campana is third at 20, while Nava is ninth at 4. In the rookies' Trophy, Zampieri is leading with 30 points, followed by Campana at 26.

Next round of the Italian Formula 3 championship is scheduled for next 7th June at Magione.
