19/10/2008 - Lucidi Motors confirm their leadership in the Italian Formula 3 Championship. At Vallelunga, stage of the last round of the season, Mirko Bortolotti ruled the whole weekend harvesting two pole positions, two victories and fastest lap times in both races.

After yesterday´s race one, math awarded the driver from Trento the title of Italian Champion, who concluded his season with 15 podiums over 16 races (9 victories, 5 second places and a third place).

Fourth final position in the classification for Francesco Castellacci, second under the chequered flag of race two and particularly in good shape, while the debutant Giovanni Nava concluded his season with a promising fifth place.

Mirko Bortolotti, Italian Formula 3 2008 Champion:
"I started the season with the first racing weekend, skipping all winter tests. The initial races were a bit steep, but I have always been confident in my possibilities. Together with the Team I worked to the development of the car and we managed to recover the initial gap that we had on Piscopo, a rival with more experience than me whom I always had in great respect.
I carefully trained to get to Vallelunga´s weekend at one-hundred percent. I did not have any doubts on the fact that should my chances and Team´s be fully expressed, we would win the title. And that was it.
I´d like to thank Gabriele Lucidi and the whole team that allowed me to grow up professionally and to obtain this great result."

Gabriele Lucidi, Team Manager:
'2008 has been a year full of innovation for Italian Formula 3 due to the employment of brand new single seaters and engines.
We worked hard on the development at the beginning of the season, exploiting the technical know-how that allowed us to get the title with Nocera last year.
Bortolotti has always worked with great professionalism, also playing a crucial role outside racing weekends.
During races he has always been fast and in practice he never committed any mistakes throughout the whole season.
The season´s finale has been red hot. We left the others argue while we concentrated ourselves on race preparation: this helped to make the difference at Vallelunga.
The result obtained by Castellacci and Nava, respectively fourth and fifth in the final classification, concludes with a further positive note our season. From tomorrow on we will work on the 2009."
